I recently captured a Formica queen ant and I'm unsure of the best practices for her care during the early stages of her colony development. She’s in a small test tube setup with some cotton and a bit of honey water, but I’m not sure if I’m doing enough. How often should I provide food and water? Should I adjust the temperature or humidity levels to help her thrive? Any tips on ensuring she successfully lays eggs and starts her colony would be fantastic!

For a Formica queen, maintaining stable humidity and a temperature around 24°C is key for egg-laying. Honey water is great, but you may want to adjust feeding frequency based on her activity. For more ant-keeping advice and tips, check out additional resources on proper queen care and setup.
