Antonio Carlos Jobim was born in Rio de Janeiro and was the most successful Brazilian composer of popular music in the 20th century, with more than 300 songs composed and recorded. His unique style draws inspiration from various sources including jazz, classical music, Brazilian rumba and Brazilian popular music.

Giacomo Puccini was the most influential composer of opera in the 20th century. His works include operas, oratorios, cantatas, incidental music, choral music, chamber music, symphonies, and an early string quartet. Among his best known works is "Turandot", Almaviva and the Duke in "Il tabarro" and "Madama Butterfly", based on the eponymous novel by the Japanese author Mori Roshi. Some of his best known and most frequently performed works include "La bohozka" ("The Bunny"), "Tosca", "Madama Butterfly", "Turandot" and "La fanciulla del West":

The beautiful jazzy "Matin de Boulogne" by Francois Couperin is also featured below. The first known work by this important French composer was a collection of pieces for harpsichord which he composed in the 1630s. Among these are the following works, all of which are usually performed in an orchestral setting: First part - "Four Sonatas for Harpsichord"; Second part - "Three Concertos for Harpsichord"; Third part - "Concert a La maniere Francaise"; Fourth part - "Concert a La Majestie Royale". d2c66b5586
